After having studied in Europe and worked there for several years, I returned home to set up my first business. This was a local SEO business back in 2005. Since then I have been helping businesses with their marketing. Everything from helping with their direct mail & advertising to their online presence.

After having helped others I then wanted to have a product to sell for myself. That’s when I opened up a women’s shoe shop in Northern Ireland called Shuphoric Shoes & Accessories. From day one we started trading on Ebay and quickly moved onto amazon and my own website. While doing this I spent literally thousands of hours researching the best way to start my e-commerce business. There was very little help around and very few other business owners who had a proper multichannel e-commerce business up and running close to me who I could call on for help and advice.

Over time I became an expert in selling on these channels and organising all the channels together. I  then started getting asked by other businesses to help them set up their e-commerce operation properly from start to finish.

I went onto iTunes one day to look for a podcast that I could listen to on my way to the shop every day or when driving around the country visiting other businesses, that would help me on that journey. I couldn’t find one. That’s when  I came up with the idea to launch a podcast soon after, where I could hear the stories of successful business owners who were selling their goods online throughout the world and learn how they handled all the areas of their e-commerce business. I wanted to be inspired by others and to feel that I wasn’t alone.

That’s when sellingonlinetoday was born.
